Since 1961, Congregation Beth Tikvah has been a foundation in the lives of its members, serving as the connective thread that weaves together the varied strands of worship, life cycle events, education, and fellowship. Started by a small group of families committed to establishing their faith and heritage into the north side of Columbus, Beth Tikvah has grown and thrived. It has become a place of comfort, inspiration, and celebration for generations. At the heart of our congregation is a steadfast dedication to Reform Jewish beliefs, traditions, and ideals.

Today, under the spiritual leadership of Rabbi Gary Huber, Congregation Beth Tikvah is nearly 450 members strong. It is a place where the spirit of God is found in community worship and in the every day mitzvot and acts of kindness that defines this religious community.

Beth Tikvah is where we come for our significant life events, from britot milah and b’nai and b’not mitzvah to confirmation, weddings, anniversaries, and funerals. It is where grandparents say a shehecheyanu and where sons and daughters say kaddish. It is where we not only attend services, but where we participate in and are uplifted by them.

An old man was planting a sapling by the side of the road
when a stranger stopped and asked,
“Why are you planting a tree at your age?
It will be many years before it provides fruit and shade.
You may not
live to enjoy it.”

The man replied, “All my life I have enjoyed food and shade
provided by those who
came before me.
As my ancestors planted for me,
I plant now for my children and my children’s children.”
   —The Talmud

From the very youngest to the most senior member, our temple has something to offer everyone. Beth Tikvah is a vital center of activities through our Religious School, Hebrew School, Sisterhood, Brotherhood, adult education programs, and many more.
