Ares is Seth What exactly is the Ares Legacy?

The Ares Legacy is a ministry that is based off of reality, intended to encourage Christians everywhere who are being hard-pressed, shut up, knocked down, persecuted, or who feel abandoned by church doctrine and theology. In Greek mythology Ares, the god of war, was abandoned by the other gods on Mt. Olympus because of his rogue tendancies, and his legacy of war and violence. On this site we will explore this legacy further and draw encouragement from it so that we who are hated or abandoned will not lose site of our calling from God, or our duty to uphold the message of salvation as taught by Jesus Christ.

Legacy: "Something handed down from an ancestor or a predecessor or from the past."

Why Ares? The Greek mythology is an account of human history, much like the account found in the book of Genesis. The Greeks however, were humanists who worshipped human accomplishments and thus worshipped their ancestors. Mt. Olympus and its gallery of gods was really a big geneology, and each god was really an ancestor. Ares was the god of war, the younger brother of Hephaistos, armorer of the gods, who fell out their graces because of his violent nature. But war also signifies opposition. So according to the Greek Genesis (Mythology), Hephaistos killed his younger brother and was for a short time banished from Mt. Olympus, but he was reinstated after a short time. Ares was then born to replace Hephaistos' murdered brother, but he was an outcast because he did not agree with the other Gods of Olympus. His opposite views led him to be called the god of war, an ancestor who did not believe as the other ancestors did, and thus he was outcast and abandoned.

The Other Side: In Genesis Cain killed his younger brother Abel and was banished by God. He later went on to become the father of people who worked metals into instruments and no doubt weapons, much like Hephaistos, the blacksmith to Olympus. To replace the murdered Abel, Adam and Eve had another son who they named Seth. He was to be the ancestor of all who are alive today. But furthermore, he was the ancestor to righteous men like Noah, who God called on to oppose the societal norms of their days and as a result were outcast and abandoned by everyone around them. So, in closing, Ares and Seth are the same person described by two different sources, the Greeks and the Hebrews, just as my description of my parents would be similar but not identical to that of by brother. Example: I call my dad "pops" but my brother calls him "dad," but in our descriptions of him he has almost identical traits. The same is true for Ares/Seth, two different names, but the same man and the same legacy.

The Ares Legacy: ...Hated

Matthew 10:22 "All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved."
