How to Play Poker
First, you are dealt five cards. The object of the game is to end up
with the highest-valued hand. From best to worst, hands are ranked in the
following order (from best hand to worst hand)
Royal Flush
This is the best hand you can get in poker. A Royal Flush is composed
of 10, Jack, Queen, King and Ace, all of the same suit. It is also the hardest
hand to get.
Straight Flush
A Straight Flush is comprised of any five cards in numerical order,
all of the same suit. Example: 3 4 5 6 7 8 (all must be the same suit.
They could all be hearts, diamonds, clubs or spades
Four of a Kind
Four cards of the same number. Example: 4 hearts, 4 clubs, 4
diamond and 4 of spades
Full House
Of the five cards in your hand, three must have the same number (any
suit) and the other two remaining cards must also be the same number.
Example: 3 of hears, three of diamonds, 3 of clubs(and your other two)
King of hearts and King of Clubs.
Flush
A Flush is when you have any 5 cards that are all the same
suit. Example: 5 of hearts, king of hearts, 2 of hearts and Ace of
hearts
Straight
Five cards in number order regardless of their suits. Example:
Example: 6 7 8 9 10 They could be a mix of any suit -hearts, diamonds,
clubs or spades
Three of a Kind
Three cards of the same numer and two random cards that are not a
pair. Example: 5 of clubs, 5 of hearts, 5 of spades and any other
two cards
Two Pair
Two sets of pairs, and another random card. Example 2 2 9 9 and any
other card
One Pair
One pair and three random cards. Example Queen of hearts, Queen of
Clubs and any other 3 cards
