Grand Traverse Bay Nov - Smallmouth in the shallows. Most smallmouth can be found feeding on the inner grass beds in 8-15' of water during the early and late hours of the day. Look for the best smallmouth fishing on the drops and heavy weedbeds. Goby, baitfish, and crawfish patterns will work best.

Salmon / Steelhead / Lake Browns
The Betsie river has had another great salmon run in 2009, and should have a great season in 2010.
The Betsie and Platte river are known for great runs of Chinook and Coho salmon. Look at late Aug and Sept for great opportunities at fresh salmon from Lake Michigan. Streamer fishing for these fish can be fantastic early in the season.
This is a great river during Late August and most of September for chinook Salmon fishing. Days are limited and advanced bookings are needed!
Fall steelhead and lake run browns are starting to enter the Betsie River. Although these runs have been on the slow side the last couple years, the Betsie river can offer a relaxing opportunity for fall steelhead and browns with little or no traffic.
The water is on the high side, and fish have been sitting in slower runs and pools!
