I have always been shy. It’s hard for me to speak my voice, but inside of me I know there are things I would like to share with the world. I get so nervous in front of groups and when I met you I felt it was just in perfect timing! I had arranged for all these speaking opportunities over the next couple of weeks but had been avoiding how I would actually do it, because it scared me so much! After my session with you I have more of a sense that I can just go up there and be myself. I feel more at ease, more aware of what I need to do to prepare, more aware that I shouldn’t overwhelm people with information. Thank you, Annette. I am grateful. Tips for an unforgetable Interview
Banish the fear of Interviews, set yourself apart with confidence with your new level of communication skills...in just one day!
“I find it interesting that in my research for job Interviews no one speaks on how your communication skills can make the difference between getting hired or not. If you are fortunate enough to look like Barack Obama, then you may land that position, but if not, the competition is more than unsettling right now. Below are some helpful suggestions when need to set yourself apart from the others.
· Image-What are the rules for the way you dress? Your research should tell you whether the company leads with a corporate or casual image. Your method of dress should be one notch up from company standards.
· Preparation-Just like a great presentation you need to be prepared. My suggestions are a little different from the norm. I am referring to speaking. If possible make 2 phone calls prior to leaving for the interview. Get your vocal cords working and moving. Gain confidence by speaking to someone who understands what you are dealing with and will speak to you for 10 minutes. Get your voice and Interviewing skills warmed up!
· Are you familiar with personality types? Your communication style needs to be in line with the person to whom you are speaking to. Identify their style and mimic who they are without losing yourself. Example: If you are speaking to calm person then it is best not to come in like a wild maverick!
