Hi New York! Although those S/P shakers are advertised as "Norcrest" sometimes, I don't believe they sold under the Norcrest Label. The only label I have seen on them is a "Japan" label. Norcrest did indeed import from Japan a lot but the ones imported by Norcrest and sold under their label would have the Norcrest label on the box they came in or on the back/bottom. I doubt those s/p came in a box so the label would haeve been on the bottom. I could be wrong about this but doubt it.... if anyone has a pair with the Norcrest label I would appreciate a ping. They will typically sell between $35-$65.

Your collection is great. I do have a question. In your Norcrest collection you have two mermaids (holding bubbles)salt and pepper shakers. My mother just gave me a set of those along with other Norcrest salt and pepper shakers. My question is what would the value of those be? I've had a hard time finding any information about them. Thank you so much for your help.

This site is wonderful! I just inherited some mermaids from my grandmother and your site and that mermaidmania.com site have really helped to to identify some of them. I had no idea some of them were so valuable.. now I'm a fan and buying more. I'm so happy others take time to share their passions online!!!!!

Very nice collection!!! I can help you out with the identification of a couple. The Umbrella mermaids are made by Enesco - the bubbles that go with the set are connected raindrops and have the Enesco number on them. Then also under Lefton the two on the right of the 1st row and the one w/bubbles at the right of the last row... those are a set of 3 mermaid made by Norcrest - the biggest one (holding the bubble) has a P-1 on the back. Under PY you have a mermaid on a black seahorse - that is made by Lefton - it was made by Lefton here in the US and in Japan - the number on the back is different on the one made in Japan. Under Norcrest those two gals on the seahorses (blue and pink tailfins) are made by Lefton. Under Relco, the one you have leaning on the big seashell is made by Lefton. Under Christie Lee, I believe the one with a pink tailfin is made by Kelvin. AND, if you have that Ceramic Arts Stutio merman, Could you contact me as I would love to make a mold of him as I make reproductions of vintage mermaids and I have the mermaid seasprites that go with him but would love to make you a trade of a vintage item I have for the opportunity to mold your piece. Thanks, and that sure is a wonderful gallery of mermaids!!!!! Sandy

Hi I'm a collector of mermaids, fish and seahorses as well. I totally understand your obsession cause it's the same for me! I was just wondering where you found some of your pieces. I live in PA and go to auctions but never see anything, most of what I find is on ebay?!? Any hints? Thanks! Tina
