Who is Whistling Reaper?

    I am John D. Hill of Fullerton, California.  I am 54 years old and I work at McAulay & Wallace Mortuary as a funeral counselor. I am creating this site to tell you about myself and to share images and links that represent my interests and passions..including monster movies, music, theatre, cars, books, favorite places...and death.

  I love the icon of The Grim Reaper and found this one years ago on a rubber stamp.  This guy looks so happy in his work that I christened the image "Whistling Reaper" and I have adopted it as a logo and moniker for myself...I even have it as a tattoo!

I was born in Glendale, California on 17 August 1954.  My folks lived in Burbank, next to Hollywood , and our family often went on outings to see movies, plays, Museums , Parks , etc. in Los Angeles and Hollywood, or Hollywood Boulevard ...a tradition that I have continued with my own kids.

I moved to Orange County when I was young and grew up in Anaheim, not far from Los Angeles, and just a few minutes away from Disneyland .  I even worked there in the summer of 1974, along with most of my friends.

I grew up, graduated from Anaheim High School, went on a Mission , graduated from college, got married, had kids (two boys & two girls), "Came Out ", divorced, and set up my new life back in Orange County...but I still go up to L.A. often...for shows, dinner, theatre, and shopping...and I lived up in Hollywood for a couple of years.

I have wonderful people in my life for whom I am very grateful; here are some names of friends and loved ones who add to the quality of my life, just by existing.  To avoid being accused of favoritism, I will list them from oldest to most recent acquaintance: Jim (my twin brother), Rob, Rick, Cheryl, Bill, Teri (and our four children), Lisa, Alex, and Trish, Michael ...and there is room for more!
