Deb 08-06-2008 8:09:45 PM CST I can't even begin to tell any of you how I feel regarding this event...how to thank everyone who cam out to support it (even people who don't know my family or Freddy, how COOL is that!) or to Susan and Marc and all the other volunteers who made this possible. I continue to be overwhelmed by the support, love and good wishes myself and my family recieve to this day, over a year since Freddy's passing.
To Susan and Marcus: Your energy and passion made this journey worthwhile! Paul and I feel we've made good friends with not only you but with your wonderful group of volunteers...saying thank you will never be enough! I only hope we can continue this journey on a yearly basis...
To my family and Freddy's friends: Thanks for your continuing support and love YOU are the reason I get out of bed everyday, without you I could not....you may say I'm a hero, but truth be told we are all the products of our environment and I would not be who I am without you, so a big THANK YOU! Deb(Freddy's mom)
Jane Dobrovolny 08-05-2008 4:30:56 PM CST I had the pleasure of volunteering for the Rally and working the days events. Freddy's family is awesome, strong and kind; so amazing. Meeting the recipient of Freddy's heart was so humbling. Freddy's heart was beating at the event, he's living on and helping another kind person to live- just reinforcing why organ donation is so important. You're awesome Freddy. Sue/Mark, my sis/bro-in-law; thank you for coordinating such a meaningful event. It helps us to be kinder/better human beings.
Denise Orr denise@whittenarchitects.com 08-04-2008 7:51:09 AM CST Where do I begin....Susan & Marcus thank you so much for putting together such a wonderful and successful event! My sweet wonderful sister who is more amazing than she will ever know...YOU ARE MY HERO- Love to all and see you in 2009!! Donate life! Denise
Judy, Dan, Nathan Laxague Laxague@gwi.net 08-04-2008 6:06:46 AM CST What a beautiful day to pay tribute to a beautiful soul and his incredible family. We were so glad we could meet Mike Brown. What a wonderful man he is. We felt Freddy's love and energy all day. The t-shirts designed in his honor were awesome. Susan, the countless hours you put in to make this event such a success were evident. All of you that stayed up til the wee hours the three nights before the event and then worked the whole day of the event - God bless you. You made it become a day we'll never forget. You touched the hearts of so many including our friends visiting that week-end from D.C. Thank you. Love and Peace, J, D & N
Kat Powers katcjc@aol.com 08-03-2008 2:23:42 PM CST How fun was that? We're pooped, but it was so worth the time and effort. What a great group of people who came out to celebrate Freddy and meet Mike Brown. It was wonderful to see some faces I had not seen since Newc passed, making it a bitter sweet day. Thanks to all of the non-participating patrons at the Clambake that listen to my "pitch" and made a contribution. I never knew that I could sell 4 woopie pies for $22.00, or have a gentle man pull a $50 from his wallet to support our efforts. It was wonderful to be around all of the love, generousity and possitive energy. Freddy you are loved and will continue to make a difference in so many lives. Rock on.
