~Update for photos~
I am currently researching the cemetery where Joseph & Lucy are buried. I know the location but finding their headstone(s)... now that's a problem. This cemetery sits on a mountain (go figure...LOL) and around the bottom are peoples homes. Our trip to Floyd County on April 18, 2008 wasn't how I wished for it to turn out. My mom and I found several cemeteries- but headstones... nothing.
Joseph & Lucy along with their granddaughter Lucy May (parents: Howard & Ella May) are buried in the Betsy Layne Cemetery or it also may be called the Justell Community Cemetery. The cemetery is located in Justell, Kentucky- Floyd County. As we were looking around the cemetery (with permission) I noticed a mean dog charging up the hill. Umm... Yeah- we got out of there. I'm trying to get some things together to go back and try and locate the headstone. Many of the headstones are covered with overgrown Eastern Kentucky wildlife.
