Para todos los companeros charros y publico en general se les avisa que el caladero que se hiba a hacer en el lienzo el pitallo se pospondra devido a que ese fin de semana es el congreso nacional de estados unidos y el equipo de charros de el pitallo llego a la conclucion de que para no intervenir con dicho evento vamos a cambiar la fecha.mil disculpas a todos

To Alejando Solis; if that is your real name. You did not put up you e-mail or phone number, but I will leave your post up. What I care about is charreria and like everything in this country, it cost money. The fact is cola in now illegal in Nebraska and it is being modified in California. Traditional mangana is illegal in California, Arizona, New Mexico Colorado, Texas, Illinois, Main and Florida of all places. Slowly but surly, the animal rights fanatics are chipping away at Charreria. If you do not raise funds to protect Charreria, our great grandchildren will not have this beautiful tradition. As to you allegation that I have created problems in all the lienzos, I doubt the real charros in El Bajio, Rancho Los Compadres, Rancho Alegre, 3 Potrillos, Herradero de Austin, El Mayor, Los Caporales, Cuatro Palmas de Del Rio, El Patillo would complain about me.Do they even know you? I have never heard of you. I will be at the charreada on August 8, at about 3 p.m., will you be there supporting? Come introduce yourself. I am sure the guys would like to meet you.

To Mrs. Gonzales;I am sorry you or your daughter were offended. That is the reason I took the Gaona page down. It was causing too much animosity. Apparently someone took offense at the phrase in the article that said, “ Escaramuza refers to a precision team-riding exclusively for women, to individual members of the team and, later, to the competitive event in the charreada. The Frontier Times Museum is honored to present this award-winning San Antonio group.” The real competitive teams are in fact that and they don’t like someone making claims that are not true. Just like some others don’t like Raul Gaona Sr., making claims that are not true.

My daugther's team was not awarded anything in Bandera. The article DOES NOT state that. They were simply asked to perform. Please keep this group of young riders out of this argument. This particular group of girls are not a competitive team and have never claimed to be. They are simply young girls learning the sport of escaramuza. I believe that we have been very cordial to all escarumuza teams that have visited the ranch and will continue to be. The team has enjoyed watching all the other teams compete and roots for the success of charras all over Texas. This year, many of our girls enjoyed thier first taste of belonging to this great sport by attending the conference held outside of Houston. Many blessings to all who read this posting!

I took down the Raul Gaona page, since it cause more animosity then I expected. It did cause one good idea to develop. When you think about it, Carl Rodriguez has been a Charro longer then anyone in Texas, maybe the whole US. Not only that, he is a real Charro, who competed. It seems that he should be recognized. I doubt his own team will ever do it, so maybe the rest of the charros should get together and do who is right.

How can the SA Charro escaramuza be award winning when the do not join the Federation or compete. Did the make up the who thing about Gaona and everything. What a bunch of fakes. They really fooled those people in Bandera. Maybe we should tell them where the real charros and charras are.

Mr. Rodriguez, your too polite and humble. If a charro should have been honored, it was you. You have been a charro longer then anyone. You competed. Your not like that Charro Banco, Raul Gaona, Sr. who never competed in one suerte. All he can do is afford a suit. On top of that he is a fake. As you said, he did not help found the association. It was real charros, like Dan Hernandez who started the association. If Gaona, Sr. were a real man, he would have told the truth. The only good thing you can say about Raul Gaona, Sr. is that he is old and hopefully he will die soon and then there will be one less woman in charreria.

This is in reference to an article that appeared on your message board.The commentary was on Raul Gaona Sr.The article was considerate,but somehow inaccurate as to the following. The following gentlemen,Messrs. Leopoldo Garza, David Hernandez,Phil Blankenship,Andres Morales, Joe Martinez,Pablo Garza,Jose Arizola and Raul Cortez.These men on the 16 of June 1945 met,to form a group to ride in the "Battle of Flowers Parade",dress and accruement for there mounts in Charro regalia.Later these same gentlemen ,in 1947 at Dave's Used Cars,located on Broadway, next to the "Pig Stand Drive-In" within bounds form the first Charro Association in the United States.This was sixty-three years (63) ago.

El dia sabado se llevara acabo 3 charreadas con los equipos locales y el domingo habra la participacion de los equipos infantiles, juveniles y de charro mayor. La charreada del domingo 11 de julio estubo muy bien ,con polvo pero no importa,lo que si esta un poco descuidado es la subida a las gradas por el hierbal que no an cortado y es un peligro para los niÑos porque puede aber viboras o araÑas.Las ramas de los harboles estan muy bajas y los charros batallan ,si las pudieran cortas seria mucha ayuda para los charros .Gracias.No es una critica solo una sujerencia y la demas gente lo mira tambien.Se le agradeseria al Sr. Victoriano Flores.

Paid $1,200.00 to injured charros on Monday at the Southern Zone meeting. The presidents decided to have a fund raising charreada to make more money. Have not been able to get the dance set up. Bajio is having a coleadero on Saturday and the Hacienda del Flor is having a charreada on Saturday and Sunday. Its great to have so much going on. The Charreada on the 20th has been moved to Los Caporales.
